Frequently Asked Questions

Self Aligned Therapy is a private pay practice, which means we do not bill insurance directly. We are not a Medicaid provider.
Many of our clients choose to pay out-of-pocket for greater privacy and flexibility in their care. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
If you’re unsure about your out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to guide you in what to ask your insurance company.
-
Absolutely! You’re able to use your HSA card to pay for therapy services.

Our practice is very flexible in how often you can meet. Clients are welcome to have sessions multiple times a week, once a week, every other week, etc. The traditional session length is 50 minutes; however, we also offer sessions for 75 minutes, or longer. Longer sessions are very beneficial for clients who feel 50 minutes is not enough time to meet.

Self Aligned Therapy provides outpatient individual psychotherapy, typically meeting once or twice per week, depending on your needs and goals. Sessions are offered both in person in Denver, CO, and virtually for residents across Colorado.
This practice does not provide psychiatric services, medication management, hospital admission, or crisis intervention. I am also not available between sessions for emergency support.
If you’re needing a higher level of care, I can help you identify providers or programs that specialize in those services while we focus on your emotional well-being through therapy.
If you are in crisis, please call the Colorado Crisis Line at 1-844-493-8255, text TALK to 38255, dial 988, or call 911.

Sessions are collaborative, grounded, and attuned to what you’re ready for. Some days might look like talk therapy and reflection, while others may focus more on somatic awareness or parts work. We might explore your inner child, set boundaries, or process emotions related to past experiences, always at your pace. This is your space to be curious, feel safe, and reconnect with yourself.

Healing from developmental trauma or chronic emotional neglect isn’t linear, and everyone’s timeline is different. Some clients come weekly for a season, while others work with me over a longer stretch of time as deeper layers come into focus. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with your goals.

If you’ve struggled with feeling “too much” or “not enough,” have a hard time trusting yourself, or feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, shame, or disconnection, trauma therapy may help. You don’t need a specific diagnosis or a “big trauma” to begin. If something in you knows it’s time to heal, that’s enough.
